At the start, I got the impression that it was mostly going to be watching replacable characters suffer and get killed by unique and cool abnormalities, which I would have been fine with. But then the comic suddenly became focused on a select few characters who continued to survive. Knowing how the PM universe works and how unfair abnormalities can be, I fully expected them to die at any moment, yet as they kept surviving and overcoming odds I found myself becoming attached despite myself.

And then, when finally, tragedy inevitably struck, despite fully expecting and knowing it would come, my heart still sank when I saw it arrive for the characters I couldn't stop myself from growing to love and thus feel grief over.
