First impromptu pool day today and it got me thinking, once again, about women in society.... I got up and was in a rush to get out with all our swim stuff before it was too cold to swim. I realised that I hadn't shaved my legs and my toenails weren't painted. Two things that I ALWAYS do in summer. Something that women HAVE to do in the eyes of society, but men don't have to do any of it. It's seen as unclean, unattractive, not feminine, lazy.. the list is endless. Men?? Men on the other hand can just go however nature intended. The crazy thing about that is that, us women, myself included will tell you that we WANT to do it. That we LIKE to do it. That we feel more COMFORTABLE and that's it's not just because SOCIETY SAYS! I would have agreed with this until this morning when I realised that I hadn't done it! I think that we are just so conditioned that we LIKE it but we actually would prefer not to... Ask yourself this?? Do you shave your legs all winter?? By choice every few days?? Do you keep your nails on your feet manicure all year long?? I have to admit that I don't!
