the biggest tip I have for making any quadruped into a -taur is to bulk up the area where you'll be attaching the humanoid torso. put some upward slope into the spine there and make the area kinda chonky so it can support the extra weight and muscle and all that.

mess around with the body shapes until you've got a visual balance that feels right to you! canines are a little tougher to -taur than horses, because they have much shorter necks that don't always have that very upright posture you see on a horse. you can compensate for this by simply making the upper torso shorter, maybe creating more slope in the spine to have that upper torso sit further back.
