Motionless in White - Ghost in the Mirror MV [2009]
Spider-Man/Deadpool, Volume Six: WLMD by Robbie Thompson, Scott Hepburn, Elmo Bondoc, Matt Horak
Rating: D-
Spider-Man and Deadpool have both been plagued by...well...Deadpool. Deadpool doppelgangers, that is. In the present, the two are hunting down Chameleon and his army of LMDs pretending to be all the Marvel heroes and villains. But it seems the LMDs have only been pretending to follow Chameleon just to achieve their true goal: freeing their Master. And in the future, Old Man Spidey and Old Man Deadpool are facing an army of Clone-Pools. To stop the madness, Deadpool travels back in time to take his own place. But will he manage to save his bestie?

Alright, I’m done with this series. I’m tired of forcing myself to read these when I don’t like them and the story is clearly not going to get better anytime soon. There’s a bunch of other series I’ve been holding off on because I didn’t want to get the story lines confused, and I’m not letting this stop me from picking them up anymore.
I wasn’t a fan of what happened in volume five, and since this is a direct continuation, I’m not a fan of this either. This whole series has suffered because there have been too many cooks in the kitchen, with writers and artists changing almost every volume. Not a single plot point has ever been resolved since volume three, and I’m just sick of it. Each volume ends up feeling like a one-shot because nothing carries over. It’s hard to keep track of what writer did what problem in which volume. Then things are brought up in this volume that I don’t even remember happening, but apparently they did because now they’ve become a problem.
The fact that the old-man issue from volume five is playing a bigger role in this makes me unbelievably angry. It was random then. It doesn’t feel much better now. And then time-travel is just thrown in because why not, right? Honestly, I just hated about every single page of this. But what I hate the most about this series is that it could have been so amazing. I feel like so many people were waiting for a true Spider-Man/Deadpool team up, and we get this. Wasted opportunity.
