We can still be good people, even if we don't say or do good things all the time.
Eileen Cook, With Malice
With Malice by Eileen Cook
When Jill wakes up in the hospital with no recollection of the past six weeks, the six weeks she was supposed to be on a school trip in Italy, Jill and the rest of the world can't help but wonder what happened. As her family and doctors refuse to tell her anything and her lawyer keeps asking questions she doesnāt have the answers to, Jill looks for solace in her best friend Simone only to find out that she's dead and everyone thinks Jill had something to do with it. With the whole world seemingly against her and no memories to prove her innocent, Jill must try to regain her missing memories and piece together clues in order to figure what might have happened in Italy.
--SPOILERS--
Honestly this book left much to be desired, there was a decent set up but as the book continued, things started to go down hill. I wanted to find out more about the trip and Jillās relationship with Simone leading up to the āaccidentā but that was never clarified. The books ending was very unsatisfying, they never specified if Jill found out if she killed Simone which left the book on a very unnecessary cliff hanger. I also think the title in its self is misleading, when I picked up the book I was looking for more mystery and evil, and hopefully a good juicy murder, but the ending was so unspecific that it made it feel boring.Ā
