#witchgarden

Gardening is probably my favourite way to honour, and actively work with Spirit/Deity/higher self etc. And the thing that got me interested in gardening in the way long ago was the huge variety of strange and beautiful plants you could grow that you can’t get in the grocery store, or even the farmers’ market. I decided to limit most of my seed purchasing to a single colour pallet in order to limit my choices when deciding, and this season’s colour is purple/black. How witchy✨ 😏

Through some neat synchronicities, I’ll be joining @breelandwalker in  documenting and planning my garden for this season and talking gardens and tagging mine #witchygarden2020.  Oh and I’m in zone 5b in southern Ontario, so most of the plants I look at will be suited for that zone unless otherwise stated.

Hoi again!

So I thought maybe today I could tell you about my garden!

I have kinda a brown thumb but I love plants so much that I keep trying to keep them alive. I planted my outdoor stuff over Ostara, but uhhh... I live in Minnesota. They got frozen.

I’m hoping that my overoptimism won’t have fully killed my plants but just in case, I had leftover seeds and I was reading about how you can use strawberry containers and similar plastic containers to make indoor mini greenhouses so that is what I did today! I thought it would be fun to give you a rundown of what I’m growing and what their correspondences are. Several of the correspondences overlap, so I’m just listing the unique ones. If you’d like a more detailed list with the overlaps feel free to let me know!

I planted several herbs:

Rosemary: purification and fidelity. Rosemary can sub in for any other herb in spell work.

Thyme: cleansing, courage, healing

Lemongrass: lust, strength, growth

Basil: marriage, happiness, money

I planted some food:

Blue pumpkin: wishes, prosperity, love

Strawberry: romance, luck

Carrot: masculinity, fertility

And some flowers:

Butterfly weed: butterflies, home, protection

Purple Coneflower: inner strength, protection from poverty, royalty (purple is a royal color) I’m growing these for Zeus

Poppy: abundance, sleep, dream work. I’m growing these for Hades

Sunflower: joy, sun, confidence. I’m growing these for Thalia

And that’s my garden! Or at least it will be once everything sprouts!
