Is there a natural balancing act between Whim and Dark Essence?
(Note I am not equating the Dark with Dark Essence. Just as the Gods wielded Whim, the Dark wield Dark Essence, but both Whim and Dark Essence are just "power".)
Here is something I missed in the Wishful Aurosa piece descriptions, from the Withering Bloom (Wishful Aurosa: Daybreak) compendium comments:
Dodobo: I never would have imagined that the mutation of the Grand Millewish Tree could reach as far as the Aurosa Valley. It sends shivers down my spine just thinking about it.
Mutation of the Grand Millewish Tree. I remember it being mentioned somewhere that the dormant vines and the Grand Tree were symbiotic in some way, so this is an interesting part of that where the original Desperate Vines vines seem to have come from the Grand Tree itself (this also explains the "Mutated Vines" moniker seemingly being used interchangeably).
But the question is why did they sprout from the Grand Tree? Was the Grand Tree overrun with Dark Essence at the time? Were the Faewish Sprites stressed as hell? Was it the Wishing One being super lonely? Did an agent of the Dark cause the mutation?
What if it was some kind of "natural" balancing act between divine Whim and Dark Essence? Supposedly the Wishing One crafted the first Faewish Sprites from the leaves of the Grand Millewish Tree. Could that much divine Whim have caused the mutation in response? Because we know Whim and Dark Essence are two sides of the same power.
And perhaps that is why the Wishing One then had to entreat Heurta and (very likely) bless with her Whim, instead of fighting the Desperate Vines himself?
What about the Pieceys? If the creation of Descendants expends a large amount of Whim which very much might cause some kind of reaction in the natural order, if we take it as truth that the SIlvergale's birth is what created them, how did the Dark Essence respond to that? Could that have been the cause of the Stonetrees growing?

An Undelivered Letter
(You can find this in Queen Philomia's Palace Ruins.)
(The text is indecipherable due to wear and tear.)
To...:
After coming here, I often experience illusions, as if everything in the past never happened. Those... seem to have melted into the wind of Wishfield, leaving no trace. I tried to compromise with the illusions, but my memory has experienced too much pain and it won't allow me to make any concessions.
...It's too quiet here. So quiet that I can count the cycle of day and night; so quiet that I have countless times to wander in the reverie of music, but cannot compose any tunes.
...
I think, history is at its best... a smile, always revealing its absurd nature. People try to decipher the intention behind that smile, but they're always left in the dark. This is true of me and you, even.
The loneliness makes people wonder, but this is also a good way to pass the time... here... peaceful and harmonious, full of freedom and hope. I think I can understand how to move on.
...Fate always has other plans. The peace that I've never obtained is within reach after exile. However, I can't help but wonder, how long can this tranquility last...? Illusions always shatter upon being touched.
But I want to take this step, for the future of the living.
