In August 2009, I departed for my freshman year of college, and my Nana left to spend six months in Florida. We had never lived more than a handful of miles apart, and we held each other in the driveway and cried before I got into the car to go north. A few months later, she sent me this book, with a card telling me she had found it in a little bookstore and it reminded her of me. What serendipity. ✨🌿 The great and profound work of Mary Oliver has deeply impacted me in ten years since I unwrapped this book. In dark times, I have turned to her words for comfort, but more often I have looked to them to remember that joy and gratitude can be abundant, if we invite them. ✨🌿“Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it.” Oliver’s advice has become a guiding principle in my life and in my work. I feel her words in the very marrow of my bones, like drinking cold water from a spring, like the first light that warms your face after a long winter. When you were born to talk… to shine… to be seen.. to be heard…you CAN’T be stopped. Unless they crucify me, like they did to Jesus! I’ve been reading more about me & my DNA learning who I am…. how? You might think 🤔 numerology & astrology our connection!!! It says I have many gifts … it says I have the gift of gab!!! ( because I know) it says I am a teacher… I am wise with much wisdom to share. So I needed my voice. It says I’m a healer.. so do my palms. ( more about that later) it says I know crystals, I can and do astral travel ( yes my it said that!!!) it said I would grow up without a mom!!! It’s amazing all I am learning and SUPER Exciting too. It’s really hard to accept all these about me. My family and religion taught me these gifts 🎁 I am BORN with just like the eyes I’m born with are evil and MAKE ME EVIL!!! Look at my eyes… do you really see it feel evil? NO I AM LOVE… not just KNOW IT IAM LOVE. The world has lost its love.
