Temtem appreciation post. I love Temtem and was working on a card deck for them. It’s on hold atm but I may return to it once I get bored of other games stuck in my life atm.

Temtem is a game like Pokemon that fixes a lot of the issues I had with the franchise (I’ve been playin since Poke’mon Green in ‘96, so I’ve seen my fair fair share of experience). I feel it’s both more challenging and just more fun overall with its execution. It’s not perfect, but it’s a great start.

Look at this cute little Fomu! It’s a water-type temtem, and they show how the “water“ element in Temtem is independent of the water state - canonically they produce vapour, like steam engines (and that’s why they are part cloud-like, apparently!) but they attack with ice cubes!

Well, and bubbles. And their horn.

Their horn reminds me of the carrot nose of a snowman, specially with the white parts (that aren’t snow, they’re clouds, but regardless) and with the ice cubes attack, but that’s not where this is going...

...because Fomu evolves into Wiplump, a flying rhino with cloud wings!

Curiously, some of Wiplump Ice attacks are wind type and not type and not water type. But that’s ok because Wiplump is wind type too!
