The Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly's winter session starts today. The session is expected to witness debates on the Sambal issue and the state government will present the supplementary budget in the Assembly on Tuesday.

Leaders of political parties in Parliament met in New Delhi to discuss the agenda for the Winter session of Parliament beginning On December 4 .

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi had convened the meeting which was attended by senior leaders such as Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, Congress leaders Jairam Ramesh, Gaurav Gogoi, and Pramod Tiwari, Trinamool leader Sudip Bandyopadhyay, NCP leader Fouzia Khan, and RSP leader N K Premachandran among others.

COMMENTS

The Winter session of Parliament will commence on December 4 and continue till December 22, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said . It is just a a day after the results of the five assembly elections will be announced .

In a post on X, he said the session will have 15 sittings spread over 19 days.

“Amid Amrit Kaal looking forward to discussions on legislative business and other items during the session,” he said.

Three key bills which seek to replace the IPC, CrPC and the Evidence Act are likely to be taken up for consideration during the session as the standing committee on Home has already adopted the three reports recently.

Another key bill pending in Parliament relates to the appointment of chief election commissioner and election commissioners.
