Danny notices Will’s anxiety but has insecurities of his own and starts to think that Will is embarrassed of him. He makes an off handed joke about it to Will and instantly Will is flooded with guilt and all of his reservations go out the window because there’s no way he’s making his own boyfriend feel like he has to hide or make himself smaller. Will himself has done enough of that. So they start small, holding hands, thighs pressed together on the couch. Until a movie night where Danny puts his arm around Will and Will falls asleep cuddled into his shoulder, his hand on his chest. He wakes up to Lucas giving him a shit eating grin and max hissing at him to shut up.

Everyone looks amused, not disgusted or anything. They’re all smiling (save for Mike who’s jealous but who cares) and that opens the floodgates. Suddenly Will is reaching up and kissing danny’s cheek every time he gets up, letting Danny pull him into his lap, curling up against his chest. Danny responds enthusiastically, kissing his temple and his forehead and giving him his jacket and even giving him a soft sweet kiss. Lucas and dustin playfully groan sometimes but max just smiles widely seeing Will be happy with someone and remembering all the talks the two of them had had in college about good relationships and being desired and how they both felt cursed.
