With comics, I’m not sure if there’s something I’m missing or if I’m just in the middle of changing tastes.  I’m almost out of superhero comics (unless any of the new stuff is good, but at this point that seems unlikely).  But there’s also not a whole lot of indie stuff I’m into.  I dunno.Catalyst Comix is tons of fun and I’m bummed it’s only nine issues.  Prophet is still fantastic, going to miss it when it ends.  I’m looking forward to rereading it in the future, just to track how it changed.  Saga is enjoyable although the current arc has felt kinda weird (I think it’s that the characters aren’t being chased right now).  Most of FF has been a lot of fun, but now that it’s getting near the end, it feels like “fun” is being switched out for “important”/”ending”.  I really like reading Young Avengers, but I’m not sure if it works.  Like cutting out the fat of a superhero comic and doing one mega-arc over a year as opposed to the entire run is a commendable idea, but I’m starting to feel like that fat is needed?  I dunno, I just think I’d like the characters more if the plotpoints were more spaced out.  The Batman ‘66 comic has been really funny and super inconsequential and I love it.  Pretty Deadly and Three might be my favorites of the “Marvel people by Image” group, but I’m not sure yet.  Zero is a great spy comic so far.  I almost dislike that dude Ales Kot (he’s a good writer but he also puts in stuff like “We played video games six hours per day four days a week.  3D shooters, usually.  Good for reflexes.  Good for learning how to nullify opponents without associating them with human beings.” and stuff like that is just annoying).  But he really has great taste and seems interested in pursuing innovation.  I’ve just started the first Phonogram trade, that’s good so far.  And I also still have several books I haven’t read yet (Walrus, Spacehawk, Elekra Assassin, Orc Stain, Omega the Unknown, The Demon).  COMICSI just finished Mindy Kaling’s book.  That was an accomplishment for me.  I do most of my reading on the Internet, so that felt good.  I have a book on crime movies my girlfriend got me to read.Music wise I’ve just been listening to the new Danny Brown and Run the Jewels.  I’m simple.  Loved Modern Vampires of the City.  Liked Yeezus.Movies-wise, Richard Brody is in town talking about Godard, so I felt like I’d take this opportunity to dive in.  I saw La Chinoise last night and Historie(s) du Cinema last Friday.  Historie(s) was almost unbearable, but the part where he talked about Hitchcock was good.  Today I’m going to Brody’s lecture and seeing For Ever Mozart and In Praise of Love.  Tomorrow I’ll see King Lear and Hail Mary.  I missed Masculine Feminine due to work and won’t be able to see Pierrot Le Fou.I watched Rushmore for the first time last Saturday.   Everyone likes that movie, right?  I still have Life Aquatic and Darjeeling to see and I want to rewatch Fantastic Mr. Fox and Moonrise Kingdom.  Wes Anderson, man.Gravity was amazing, although I feel like Children of Men is a better movie (like Avatar is technically impressive but it doesn’t beat Terminator 2.  Same thing with Gravity).  I really enjoyed Harry Dean Stanton: Partly Fiction, even if it kind of leans on his singing in parts.  David Lynch and Kris Kristofferson make great appearances.  Movie of the year so far for me.  ”So far” because I haven’t seen a lot of the other movies I’d dig from this year (Frances Ha, Before Midnight, Pain and Gain, The World’s End, 12 Years a Slave, Inside Llewyn Davis, The Wolf of Wall Street, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, The Counselor, Blue is the Warmest Color, her, The Zero Theorem, In a World, This is the End, Mood Indigo).  Before Midnight is the one I’m mostly likely to see first, after rewatching the first two.  And I hopefully going to get around to JCVD before the end of the year. Me, I’m good.  Tomorrow freaks me out too, but right now I’m good.Thanks for asking.
