Winged Wheel - La Station Gare des Mines, Paris, France, January 20, 2026

Over on Aquarium Drunkard last week, I scribbled a little something about Winged Wheel's third LP, the fabulous Desert So Green. It's got all the stuff I've loved about previous WW releases, plus plenty of added attractions, exploring woozy shoegaze zones (woozegaze?!), getting into Murray Street-era Sonic Youth situations (hey, Steve Shelley is in the band, it comes naturally) and plenty more uncategorizable areas. It's great, and as I say in the review, it really sounds like a band, individuals coming together for the greater good. And that's what it's all about, right?
