Chicago really the prettiest ◡̈

look I understand many people are confused as to why adrienne and klaus just HAVE to get married but are you guys forgetting that this story is set in the 1910-20s? she may be a powerful witch, coven leader and queen of the city but she’s a still a woman. a young black woman who was already getting shat on for seeing klaus, a white man. Women will always get the blame for men’s actions. Erebus’ words in the first chapter of the entire book. although it might seem to force adrienne to get married as a power grab but if you look at some of the language I used, it states how reluctant he was about this union between the lumiéres and the mikaelsons, my guy didn’t want this to happen. but look, she’s an unwed, pregnant black teen, she’s already judged anyway, but adding the pregnancy to it will make everything worse and the marriage is also a protection for her as well as a curse because we know how klaus behaved in the last chapter.
