It was a strange thing to notice. The utter stillness of the air surrounding the hedgehog, despite the fact his eyes could clearly see the shifting of fabric in the cool night breeze. A staleness clung to the stagnant atmosphere in a way that spoke of how it hadn't moved in time immemorial, a sickening weight to the very air circulating in one's lungs; like oxygen was turning to molasses and squeezing the very organs that needed it. A malevolence in the air that made it nigh-impossible to breathe, as if the very air has become something alien and hostile in its very nature. Exuding a pressure that seeped into every crevice of life itself.
A pressure that sunk into one's very bones, as the darkness of night gave way to shades of blue and shadows whose depths sunk deeper than any ocean.
As gaze might naturally wander, there wouldn't seem to be anything too off-putting in the area, until one moment
where she hadn't been some immeasurably short instance prior.
Not a blink. Not a lapse in consciousness. The figure simply was when she should not.
Something so wicked. So unnatural to the way of life in the world Sonic knew. An evil of a thousand different shades, each more bone-chilling than the last. A being that represented an evil unlike any before her. An evil that made the end of so many others feel like a drop in the cosmic emptiness that the planet spun in. An evil that made all others feel
An evil that would swallow up anything that dared even have the slightest delusion it could be a threat to it's kin. . .
A hand braced to the ceiling as her towering form forced her to lean in order to fit, only worsened by the sheer difference in their height; her staggering story tall visage juxtaposed by the mobian's shorter stature. That yawning void where a face should be only lessened in its intense eeriness by an eye that burned twicefold in the nothingness it peered from.
"But enough about me... So this is the 'blue blur' that has caught the attention of not just my family but so many of our kindred ilk?"
It was a voice that did not come from the body itself. Rather, it reverberated from the very space that Sonic found himself in, as the goddess before him canted her head to one side. Eye squinting in what could only be amusement, though the glint of malice said it was anything but friendly. A glint that shone off the elegant gold of her attire.
"I fail to grasp what makes such a pathetic mortal worthy of our time."
