I use Sysinternals Procmon utility to monitor the registry access by some programs. Most log entries have the Path property starting from HKCU\ā¦ or HKLM\ā¦, that corresponds to the registry hives HKEY_CURRENT_USER and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE that can be seen using Regedit. But some entries have the Path starting from \REGISTRY\A\ā¦:

Searching in the Windows registry can be very long.
Is there some tool available that can index the contents of the whole registry, or contents of a single hive, such that fast lookups are available? (for example generating some SQLite database with FTS3 or FTS4 enabled for full text search)
