Let's start with her hobbies? Maybe she likes drawing... Or maybe writing! Get her something that corresponds to her hobbies. Part of being a good partner is being able to know someone without them telling you.

So this is where you use your initiative and start thinking about what she does in her free time, or I don't know, when you walk past a shop does she point at anything?

Though it’s easy to type that Lithuania gained independence at the end of the Great War, in reality it was rather more complicated than that.  The Republic of Central Lithuania, for instance, was a puppet-state of Poland established in the region of Vilnius (Lithuania’s capital city, as you’ll recall) for those fraught early years of independence (1920-1922) - before Poland annexed the territory until 1938 (whereupon Poland had its own annexation issues to worry about).  The former Republic of Central Lithuania has been reunited with the rest of the Republic of Lithuania proper since independence (true independence) in 1990.
