Spring vistas seen on a walk

It was one of those, sun in and sun out kind of days which made for some interesting light conditions at time. Challenging as well if I'm being honest. Anyway, here are three images that I think sum up the conditions I experienced yesterday when I was out walking…

This was taken on an overcast, warm and humid day with light conditions that left a lot to be desired. Rendering these two images in black and white somehow seemed to feel right when it came to trying to convey the mood of the day.

Looking back in sepia vision…

This is me looking back at the photos I've shot so far this month to see which ones would work cropped square and sepia toned. The aim being to convey a sense of nostalgia and also, an uneasy feeling of impending loss…

Walking through the woods in…black and white…

Spring revisited…

I've selected four images shot on a walk earlier on this week with the explicit purpose of re-working them to convey a mood. It may well be spring but, as the world slides ever further towards dystopia, it's becoming harder than ever to shrug off an ill defined feeling of foreboding. It's the contradiction between the optimism of spring and what may well be false hope, set off against foreboding that I've tried to express in the way these images have been treated.

Spring?

It was April 1st yesterday. We've just moved to British Summer Time. It's Easter this coming weekend. It's supposed to be Spring. So, what did we get yesterday? Yet another day of grey cloud and gloom:(
