Based on what I remember about Willie Jack, she's someone that highly values the people around her, and isn't very fond of goodbyes

When her friendgroup was seemingly falling apart, she took it upon herself to try and fix things, which ended up with California and all that jazz

So that makes me think that because she values her friendgroup so much, her realizing she's developing feelings for a friend might throw her off a bit

It's the classic "what if I mess things up?"

Don't get me wrong, Willie Jack is confident in herself. She's just worried that her crush will say no, or they'll date, break up, and things are completely ruined now

There's no huge revelation. She's laughing with you and then her eyes dart to your lips. "I wouldn't mind kissing her" she thinks.

As much as she tries to act normal, there would be signs

Saving you the best meat pies, inviting you to cook with her, bringing you a candle of white Jesus because she knows it'll make you laugh, getting trinkets that remind her of you in general, stuff like that

And I don't think she'd have a hard time accepting she likes girls. They kinda have a conversation about it. "No boyfriend? No girlfriend?". I don't see her freaking out

Jealous Willie Jack is failing to be nonchalant

Should she be jealous that you're talking to Jackie so much? No. You two aren't dating or anything, so it's really none of her business.

Is she jealous anyway? Absolutely

"Me and Jackie have a thing tomorrow but we can hang after! Around 5 maybe?" "Just you and her?🤨"

"We only met her because she jumped Bear"

"She might be your cousin"

You say anything wrong and she's mumbling "all that time around a city girl..."

Brows furrow whenever Jackie is mentioned

What's so special about Jackie, anyway?

I could see it genuinely getting to the point where you think she's upset with YOU. She's suddenly mumbling weird comments all the time but still kinda acts the same? None of it makes sense

Her dad walks in her room- "are you still friends with so and so?" "Yeah" "you sure? She don't think so"

Mental note; do not let dad answer the door NO MO

After that, I can see her confessing

It'd be in the midst of her explaining that she's not mad at you and you asking what her deal is. It either slips out or you put two and two together and she can't deny it anymore
