Rolling over in the bed in Will’s apartment I moaned feeling like my head was bounding against my pillow I was laying on. I didn’t dare open my eyes just wanting to get some sleep since I had already woken up twice in the night. The moment I thought it would successfully happen my phone began ringing where I groaned. “You’ve got to be kidding me. Who the hell is this!”

“Woah is that anyway to treat a friend when they call you?” I heard Will’s voice through the phone.

Closing my eyes now knowing who it was I sighed apologizing to my ED doctor friend. “Sorry Halstead. I’m just not feeling good right now.”

“What’s wrong?” He asked instantly changing his voice to the tone he used when he was in doctor mode.

Shifting my body up against the pillows I rubbed the sleep from my eyes trying to think of what I could tell him so he wouldn’t freak out on me. “My head started hurting where I had to leave work on Friday. It’s Monday and I’m still not feeling too good. I have been feeling nauseous the whole day basically.”

“Do you have a fever, baby?” He asked me softly.

I started to answer until a coughing fit came over me where I had to sit up and bend over just getting it all out where he could hear me. “I - don’t know – Will. Oh my – gosh.”

“Just stay in bed and try to get some sleep. I’ll be home as soon as I can alright.” Will explained and I ended the phone draping the covers over my head. I finally got some sleep for about - I’m not sure how many hours but I felt the bed dip some and a soft hand gently shook my shoulder waking me up. “Huh – who is?”

I heard Will’s voice quietly speak down to me. “It’s me, babe. How are you feeling now?”

“I got some sleep for – actually I don’t know how long. But I think I have mucous in my stomach that’s why I’m throwing up.” I gave him a weak look feeling him running his fingers through my knotted hair.

He got up from the bed where I watched him remove his red hospital scrubs. He changed into some boxers and no shirt since he never found it comfortable to sleep in one. “I’m sorry you’re feeling this way. Can I take a listen hmm?”

“Sure.” I muttered out under my breath.

Will reached into his medical bag taking out his stereoscope, placing it on my back listening when I take in a few deep breaths. “It does sound like you some snot in your lungs. I can go get you decongestion medicine tomorrow.”

“Sounds good to me…” I mumbled making me way over to lay my head down on Will’s bare chest tracing some patterns with my fingers not looking him in the eye when I said something I wouldn’t have if I was feeling like myself. “Will, I have feelings for you.”

He raised a brow pausing his attention of running his fingers through my hair. “You do? Why – why are you just telling me this now?”

“I was afraid you’d not feel the same. If you don’t – forget what I said. I’m not in my right mind.” I began coughing again into the sleeve of my Christmas pajamas I had slipped on.

Will shifts so I was forced to sit upright with him when he put his hands on my shoulders making me look into his baby blue eyes. “You thought i would feel the same way. If I didn’t care for you at all I wouldn’t have told Maggie I had to leave two hours before my shift was up, know your favorite food, tv show, the things that you don’t like, I – of course I feel the same Y/n.”

“That actually makes me feel a lot better mentally and physically.” I grinned up at the red head, starting to lean up and kiss him.

He tucks some hair that had fell in front of my eyes. “Hey, let’s wait on that till you feel a lot better okay.”

“Yeah - you’re right.” I nodded in agreement snuggling back into his comfortable embrace and he wrapped his arms around my body.

He kissed the crown of my head waiting until I fell asleep before he allowed himself to fall asleep needing to make sure that I would finally be getting some rest. “Goodnight, Y/n. I’ll be here when you wake up don’t worry.” It really did me good to have a ED doc as a boyfriend when I got a cold.
