In the last month, right-wing media figures have labeled a wide range of people and entities they associate with the Democratic Party — from former President Barack Obama to mainstream media figures and critics of the Iran War — as “traitors,” in some cases explicitly demanding they be tried for treason and put to death. This rhetoric showcases the right's escalation and propensity for more extreme reactions during the second Trump administration.

Right-wing media hacks attack those opposed to the Iran War or the Trump Regime as “traitors”, mimicking the same campaign under Bush 43 that tarred Iraq War critics.

White House deputy chief of staff for policy Stephen Miller drew sharp condemnation Tuesday over a message he sent to Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers during an interview with Fox News host Will Cain. Miller asserted that ICE agents have “federal immunity in the conduct of your duties” and declared that anyone who touches or obstructs them is “committing a felony.” Legal experts and commentators pushed back on social media, stressing that prosecuting federal agents is possible, even if it’s often difficult, as a recent HuffPost report explained. Other critics called Miller’s overall tone “utterly chilling” and a “greenlight for abuse” that amounted to declaring “open season” for ICE agents “on immigrants AND citizens alike,” and encouraged officers to “go and spread violence and terror.” Miller’s remarks came amid heightened scrutiny of ICE following the killing of Renee Good in Minneapolis.

Appearing on Tuesday’s edition of The Will Cain Show on Fox “News”, fascist bozo Stephen Miller asserted that ICE terrorists have “federal immunity.”

Before Donald Trump returned to the White House, Fox News hosts Jesse Watters and Will Cain vocally supported calls for the government to release files related to deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, even calling out Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL), who supposedly blocked access to Epstein's flight logs. However, in true Fox News fashion, Watters and Cain pivoted to dismissing the importance of Trump releasing the Epstein files after his administration reversed course on doing so.

One of the participants of that chat was in Moscow, having visited with Russian President Putin, within hours of the 18-member chat. Fox News host Will Cain chastised the Democrats’ anger and outrage over what is being called Signalgate, alleging it was “to score political points, the first political points they’ve been able to accomplish in two months.” “Will,” Congressman Himes replied, “what we’re talking about here, and I’ve spent a decade now watching how our intelligence community communicates with the war fighter. So I am not going to listen to you tell me that this is about a ‘partisan advantage.'” “It is a mistake, and yes, it’s a very serious mistake. The right-wing disinformation machine on Wednesday transformed the banal reality that the federal government purchases subscriptions for news outlets into what President Donald Trump described as potentially “THE BIGGEST SCANDAL OF THEM ALL, PERHAPS THE BIGGEST IN HISTORY.” Federal employees need accurate, up-to-date information relevant to their areas of expertise in order to do their jobs. The federal government pays for subscriptions to a variety of news sources in order to ensure that its workers have that information. One such news source is Politico, which took in more than $8 million from federal agencies last year, according to publicly available data published on the government website USAspending.gov.  Politico is best-known for the inside-the-Beltway political reporting it publishes for free on Politico.com and through its Playbook newsletter. But the outlet also produces a premium subscription product focused on policy called Politico Pro, which includes “an advanced technology platform that includes legislative and regulatory tracking tools, government directories, transcripts, outreach trackers and more,” as well as workflow tools, and E & E News, a subscription product that focuses on energy and environmental policy. Subscriptions to these products reportedly cost in the upper four to five figures for a limited number of users.  [...] But on Wednesday, the conspiracy-obsessed dregs of the MAGA influencer crowd seized on the publicly-available data showing the federal government paying Politico for subscriptions, slapped it together with a payroll error that temporarily delayed paychecks at the outlet and a Trump administration freeze on the disbursement of foreign aid funds at the U.S. Agency for International Development, and attempted to concoct a major government and media corruption scandal.

[...] Reporters at more credible outlets spent the day providing the context that the MAGA warriors withheld (including that the money to Politico for subscriptions from USAID constituted only $44,000 over two years). But the White House added more fuel to the lie bonfire when press secretary Karoline Leavitt falsely claimed that USAID had paid $8 million for Politico subscriptions and that the contracts would be canceled. 

Right-wing media disinfo artists such as Benny Johnson and Dana Loesch, along with Liar-in-Chief Donald Trump, pushed the BS nonstory about federal government funding Politico Pro subscriptions.

Donald Trump says he never called for Hillary Clinton to be arrested, tried and jailed, despite publicly pleading to “lock her up” multiple times over the years. During an interview on “Fox and Friends” Weekend Edition on Sunday, the former president acted like he had nothing to do with the calls to imprison Clinton ― calls that were so common during his 2016 run for the Oval Office. [...] Shifting the blame to his supporters, Trump added, “Hillary Clinton — I didn’t say, ‘Lock her up,’ but the people would all say, ‘Lock her up, lock her up.’ OK. Then we won, and I said pretty openly, I’d say, ‘Alright, come on, just relax. Let’s go. We gotta make our country great.’” The Republican’s claim was easy to debunk, however.

He repeatedly invoked “lock her up” cries during his 2016 run for president and, at the time, even said he would appoint a special prosecutor to look into accusations Clinton improperly used a private email server during her time as Barack Obama’s secretary of state. While Trump did soften his stance a bit after securing his 2016 presidential win, telling supporters they “owe” Clinton “a major debt of gratitude for her service to our country,” by 2020 he was back to his old schtick.

Dear Donald Trump, you cannot credibly claim to back away from leading "Lock Her Up" chants aimed at Hillary Clinton when there's irrefutable evidence of you doing it at multiple rallies over the years, particularly during the run-in to the 2016 elections.
