Ok real and true. I think that their bond is this enticing to me because it is such a strong, yet harmful thing for them both. But unlike in this song, they never stated out loud what exactly they are to each other.
Vash tells to Melanie and kids that he is Wolfwoods friend, but not to him.
Wolfwood thinks at Melanie that he made a friend - Vash - but that also never is spoken out loud.
During Ark escape, Vash touches Wolfwood with his feathers and answers his thoughts, and I wonder, if they exchanged something unspeakable like the explanation of their connection during it, to a point they didn't think they need to say anything. But Wolfwood still leaves to not be a burden on Vash, so maybe saying something was in order after all.
I feel like Vash's heart after all is said and done is all the heavier for it. Condemned by the silence.
