Just so that people know:  

Over the last couple of days, Ebooks Direct has had a flurry of bot-running chargeback scammers come through the site. These, as they repeatedly attempt to run hundreds of fraudulent credit card charges in a few minutes, have cost us a not-huge-but-still-annoying amount of money in chargeback fees that we can ill afford.

As a result, for the time being we've had to change the way the site accepts credit card payments and sends out fulfilled orders.* Please note that temporarily, all orders are going to have to be authorized and fulfilled manually (i.e., via store email from DD) until we've found out how to prevent ourselves from being charged for fraudulent orders that can't be canceled before we're charged. It may take an hour or three for me to deal with your order when it comes in: please bear with me while I manage this stuff. Please & thank you!

Meanwhile, we'd like to ask potential buyers, if at all possible, to use PayPal for purchases instead of credit cards, until we can get this credit card situation (ahem) locked down.

ETA 16 November: Some initial safeguards are in place that seem to be working for the moment... so that (theoretically) manually email-confirming every single purchase won't now be necessary. (Thank Ghu!) There are about to be some additional developments to deal with this situation, so please bear with me today while I sort out the details.
