Idk how to give this post any meaningful reach but can we talk about Whittier Alaska?
some things that are true about Whittier
-population is 253 people (2024) & decreasing
-only land access is a 4km tunnel that only runs one direction at a time for 30 minutes at a time. Tunnel closes at 10:30 pm (unsure of opening time)
-the entire town lives, shops, attends school, and visits the post office in a singular 14 story building
-said building used to house military personnel
-there is 1 bar/restaurant across the street from the residential condo type building that houses everyone
-according to signage it's a federal crime to capture picture/video of residents
Does anyone know more about this place? I've been but wasn't able to gather any more information. Vibes were weird but like .. duh
