Why did they take out Fiyero being called derogatory words

Ik people have been discussing the topic of the new hot toys versions of Ezra and Sabine and I wanted to come on here and give my two cents

NUMBER ONE, AND I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH: NONE of these takes are in any way shape or form are a personal attack on either Eman or Natasha, they had no part in any toy making or casting

number two: I find it kind of weird that people only started complaining about the “whitewashing” (in this instance, it feels more accurate to call it colorism, though I use it with the same emphasis of the former word) when it came to Ezra. Uhhhhh….. Yall… this has been going on with Sabine as well FOR LIKE 3 YEARS SINCE THE SERIES HAS BEEN MAKING MERCH it’s just more obvious/slightly easier to get away with since Nat is already fairly lighter skinned herself. The previous hot toys model of Ahsoka era Sabine looks fine, it looks like Natasha well enough. But what I mean by saying “it all began a while ago” is that a woman with clearly lighter skin was cast for Sabine and no one said anything?? Like, I kinda feel like ,in addition to the acting job WHICH IS VERY IMPORTANT and Natasha did apparently a good job with audition wise, the casting directors just said “hey, she’s a clearly attractive Asian chick, she’s good enough” which… um... no….I’m sorry, I don’t like that train of thought. Sabine is very clearly a tan/brown woman (it looks lighter/darker based on some lighting) and if you don’t believe me, just look at her parents and Tristan! This is a more extreme example, but when the whole forces of Destiny line of dolls was released, Sabine was noticeably brown! (Like, honestly it was kinda borderline inaccurate to how she looks compared to the source material) in which this FoD line was supposed to cater to all young female SW fans of all skin colors, someone, like me when I got into Star Wars, a tan Mexican girl that was excited to see a strong, brown, female protagonist that I really liked! And now people are casting characters that “more or less” look enough like the character… like, I’m gonna say the quiet part out loud here but, part of the reason I feel like people think LA Sabine is such a good casting is that… it wouldn’t be the most difficult thing in the world to find an Asian looking woman that overall embodies Sabine… which the actress is. in the animation, Sabine very clearly has prominent Asian features (slanted eyes, small nose/ etc.), but I feel like people may have used that to just overlook things like skin tone and to seemingly adopt this colorist type of bias. It may not be evident to everyone, but to someone like me, esp as a pop and an artist who knows color, it is definitely not difficult to see at all. People of color come in an umbrella of all shades of all shades, not simply light and dark and it isn’t appreciated when we are over looked. Merchandising and casting aside, it kinda gives me the ick when I even see artists make animated Sabine ,who said artists have good references from, super light like she’s white which is far from what she looks like! Like ik y’all aren’t blind, it’s just some willingness to draw skin tone accurately for some reason!  (Drawing LA Sabine I get, the actress has fairer skin) But like I mentioned before, this is also happening with Ezra! He noticeably has brown, middle eastern like features (see also his animated parents) Like, come on, that is a young brown man. He has meeelllannninnnnnn. Esp when they casted someone NOTICEABLY DARK (a casting which is the same casting dep did for Sabine, which kinda baffles me) come onnnnmmm how hard is it to get a dark/tan skin tone right?! Like why does bro look embalmed??? And his features are kinda wack too. His lips should be bigger as well as the eye shape and maybe increasing the bushyness of his eyebrows.

Anyways, overall, it’s kinda weird that some people noticed what was happening with Ezra and his hot toy figure, yet the Sabine thing flew over many people’s heads, which really confuses me but what do I know maybe I’m missing something.

In conclusion, though for some it may be a slight detail, please pay attention to how you portray skin tone and the potential colorism that may come with it (may it be sub or unconscious). Like I said before, people of different colors come in a wide variety and we want/deserve proper representation and not to be passed up for a lighter presentation because it makes an artist more comfortable or because their uneducated(or whatever the reason is idk)

This time she didnt trace, didnt "improve" she white washed my drawing of leahbeth i did as a smosh character. This is insane and ive tried reporting and spreading awareness but she wont stop.
