“Clanmates” is a warriors fangame in progress. It is nonprofit, and will be free to play when it is completed.
I personally am not as big of a fan of warriors as I used to be… the last book I read was “Apprentices Quest” and I thought it was very poorly written.
However I was talking with one of my old friends who is a warriors fan, ( @angel-hawk if you must know) and I was just a little bit inspired again.
I have always been more of a Harry Potter and Redwall sort of girl, but talking about warriors again stirred something… An itch I guess. I’ve always been terrible at drawing cats, so I never drew any fan-art, and I was never really the type of person to write fan-fiction.
I love fan-comics, that’s about it.
But it hit me- why not make a dating sim?
All the warriors games out there are kind of lame, so who knows? Maybe I could make an acceptable fangame?
As someone who wants to make visual novels in the future, it would be a very low stake way for me to practice coding and I could try my hand with something that wasn’t close to my heart, like my own characters.
So here it is.
“Clanmates” will feature four dateable characters:
A Medicine cat
a Leader
a Deputy
and a Warrior
It will also feature the four most common dating sim personality types:
Tsundere
Kuudere
Dandere
And Yandere.
It is up to you to play and tell which is which ;D each cat is from a different clan and you basically start your route by choosing which clan to be in. I will not be writing a visual novel about existing characters because there are far too many characters to choose from, and plus I don’t want to go too far down the copyright rabbithole :T
If you are interested in this project, then here’s some good news for you!
I am considering making “Clanmates” a community project!
This means that If this gets enough people interested, then I will host livestreams where you can watch me work on the game, and I will take audience suggestions and requests for the plot and dialogue options!
Also, I am an artist, but as I stated before, my ability to draw cats is very… poor at best.
You can find my art here: https://lear-is-not-amused.deviantart.com/
As I want to make a good quality game (and visual novels are only fun because you get cool and pretty CG) I want to offer good quality artwork for the routes and not my awkward, botched attempts at practicing cats.
So if you want to support the project, and you are a decent artist who draws warrior cats, then you are more than free to donate some art to be used as the CG of this game!
Just let me know if you’re interested, and I’ll let you know what sort of scenes we will be looking for ;D
Not all artwork donations will be accepted as the CG of the game, however, if there’s enough support for the game, I will add in a “gallery” feature where everyone can see the art people made for this game.
I am telling you ahead of time, that if you do want to draw the CG then-
You will not be payed. This is a non-profit game. I cannot sell it as Warriors does not belong to me, nor would I do that after promising a non-profit game. I am too poor a human being to spend a lot of money on something that is being made for fun.
And I am not going to say that you will get “recognition” because i can’t promise that, and recognition doesn’t pay the bills. If you are an artist looking for commission, then I’m afraid I can’t give you anything.
Nor am I going to ask for money donations for this game. It’s just a fangame, it’s nothing that I need financial support on.
The most I can promise you is that you will get to see your work in the game when this is completed.
Also I feel it best to say that if you do want to donate your artwork to the game, then you are NOT obligated to draw every single CG image for the game!
I am perfectly happy to have a bunch of people donate one really good CG image each, than have one poor artist do every CG picture.
So if you want to draw just ONE picture, and nothing more, you are very welcome to do so. You are not expected to help with this game anymore than you want to!
So that’s that. If there is enough support from the Warriors community, then I think that this could be a very fun little project to work on! :)
If there isn’t much support, then hey, I’ll still work on it a little bit, but it will probably take way longer. But as I said before, I plan for this to be a very low-stake piece, that’s just for fun.
With the different scale colors (red, black, blue etc), what are the stereotypes/social standings of the scale colors within the Ghiasuli?
Whitescales are stereotyped as somewhat dainty. Because of their commonly slight builds (especially among Ghiasuli) and their often ghostly pale features, it’s easy to see them as delicate. However, in Ghiasuli society, this is often seen as appealing or a point of beauty, although the reverse side of this is that they can be viewed as fragile, weak, or prissy.
Redscales have a history of nobility for the Ghiasuli. As such, they’re often associated with the upper class. However, due to a fairly large (though often exaggerated) Redscale population, they’re also seen as a sort of “default”. When Redscales bear purely colored scales, they tend to have higher societal expectations placed upon them than when the colors are muddled.
As in the other nations, Blackscales have something of a reputation of violence. In Ghiasuli culture, they’re often considered the hardiest of the colors. Of Ghiasuli, they tend to have the largest and strongest bodies. However, they can also be considered less intelligent or eloquent, and don’t fit as well with Ghiasuli aesthetic standards. Many are considered plain or coarse-featured.
As it tends to be, in Ghiasuli culture, Yellowscales are considered to be the most intelligent of the scale colors. They’re often thought of as composed and controlled in personality, but this comes with the added connotation of them being emotionless and too blunt. Yellowscales are also often thought of as being quick-witted and creative.
Similar to Redscales, Bluescales are often considered by the Ghiasuli to be “common”, as there is a somewhat high population of them. They’re generally seen as good-natured, peaceful, and civil, and well-reflecting of Ghiasuli values. In addition, though, they can be seen as somewhat passive, bland, or plain. Bluescales with purer colored scales get this more.

“Do you have any notable characters that go against the stereotypes associated with their scale types?”
---
Yep, absolutely!!! :D To explain that, though, I’m going to have to go into detail on the general stereotypes associated with each scale color. Also, for this ask, I’m assuming that you mean the physical stereotypes. Feel free to send another ask if you want to hear about any other forms of stereotypes!!!
Also important to note is that scale color will always equal eye color in human forms. The only exception to this is mutations, who are kind of in a class of their own, and don’t really apply.
. . .
Whitescales are stereotypically extremely pale-skinned, with either white or pale grey hair. Pure white eyes are also in line with the stereotype. They’re also stereotyped as being very small and slender.
Redscales stereotypically have darker or ruddier skin and hair that’s either some shade of red, a reddish brown, or light blonde. Their eyes are stereotypically a bright, vivid red or a deep burgundy.
Blackscales stereotypically have skin that’s pale or rather ochre in tone. Their hair is supposed to be either pure black or a sandy brown, and their eyes are also supposed to be pure black. They’re also stereotyped as being built big.
Yellowscales are stereotypically the darkest skinned. They’re also thought of as having dark purple, dark red, or rich brown hair. Their eyes are stereotyped as being either vibrant yellow or an ochre hazel.
Bluescales are stereotyped as being fair-skinned, with either extremely dark brown or bright ginger hair. The stereotype for their eyes is either clear cornflower blue or a rich, ocean type of shade.
. . .
((Now, as for examples of characters that go against the stereotype...))
Rill Ysolld is a Whitescale with fair skin, dull, dirty-blonde hair, and extremely pale ice-blue eyes.
Chantenine Endroshan is a Redscale with pale skin, dark blue hair with a white streak, and wine-red eyes.
Sasanvi Exousia is a Blackscale with moderately dark skin, dark brown hair, and pure black eyes.
Harlow Gardnynn is a Yelloscale with tan skin, dark, dirty-blonde hair, and bright, lime green eyes.
Orion Kaeria is a Bluescale with lightly tanned skin, hair that’s a streaked mixture of black, gray, and white, and sky-blue eyes.
