I took my time and made enough stops to take pictures and had lunch at Potbelly in Old Town.

The Den Theatre. I only saw the entance hall but apparently they have more beautiful rooms.

View on Cherry Avenue Bridge and Goose Island on the right. I crossed the bridge but there was not immediatly something interesting to see so I returned and continued my walk to the beach.

Once I reached North Avenue Beach, I forgot about the struggles I had along the way. Seeing Lincoln Park and the beach covered in snow was really special! Next to that, Lake Michigan was partly frozen, which gave a special view on Chicago’s skyline.

The biggest tower on the left (black with the two pins on top) is the John Hancock Building where you can enter for a 360 view over Chicago. I’ll do this on Monday.

Too bad my pictures are so dark, because of the snow it was actually pretty bright, more like the last picture.

It was surprising to see how many people were outside running! In Belgium I don’t think anyone, or not that many people, would go running outside.

I walked all the way along the coast and then entered the city, down Michigan Avenue. A well deserved pit stop at the Leonidas Café was the perfect way to catch my breath while enjoying a lovely Belgian hot chocolate.

Finally I could go check in to my hostel. I’m staying in Freehand, sharing room with max 3 other woman. I walked 5,5 miles today, that’s almost 9 km.

For dinner I went to Pizzeria Uno, next to my hostel, to try the most popular dish of Chicago: deep pan pizza. I was not disappointed! This pizza has the same thin crust, but because it’s shaped like quish they can add more meat and vegetables.
