that post about white people/tumblr users not understanding rap was really funny but it kinda has me, a black person who honestly isn't that into hip hop, kind of lamenting the whiteness of the genres I am more into. The kind of indie rock/guitar based music im into is just so so so white it kinda sucks sometimes. I tried to get into the music scene at my school, and while I can't say I've had no success, I've seen like one other black person perform rock music while I've been there. Just feels alienating
