STEPH POOKIE!!! OOOOOOO I’m so excited for these ones… ha ha once I actually truly start writing them.

🦴 Safe Haven:

“You can have it.”

“Just like that? What about all your other options?” He knew he was toeing the line, but there was something about Jake that told him he could get away with it.

“You asked to see where the dogs slept before you even checked out where you’d be sleepin’.” Jake shrugged. “You actually like them.”

“Who wouldn’t?”

“You’d be surprised.” Jake muttered, flicking his eyes to the dirt. “I’ll draw up a contract and have you take a look tomorrow. You can stay here tonight if you want.”

He wanted to say no— pretend he wasn’t desperate as hell. But if his gut was right, Pete had already whispered enough for Jake to know. He guessed free lodging for the night was worth swallowing his pride.

SPIDERHEAD!!! 🫣 i have like. Almost nothing written out for this one but here’s some crumbs:

Bradley huffed. “You were in federal prison before this, right?”

“Three years.”

“And I’m sure that went swimmingly.” Bradley muttered, leaning against the kitchen counter as Jake circled in front of him.

“Funny.”

Bradley took pity on him, especially once he caught the slight limp in his step. The guards must’ve gotten him good.

“It might feel different here, but it’s not. They run a tight ship. Always watching.” He tilted his head toward the small camera wedged between the kitchen cabinets.

“I don’t care if it’s better or worse than the last place. They shortened my sentence when I signed the contract. That’s all I care about.”

He almost asked what Jake was in for, but thought better of it. It was an unwritten rule not to pry.

“Well yeah, that’s how they get you here.”

“So… is it bad?”

Bradley paused. He didn’t reflect on the last four years here often, and didn't like to. It wasn’t exactly easy to explain.

Jake would find out what it was like here on his own.

lavender and lily of the valley !! finished sketching out my next embroidery design for a journal cover 😌 the line work is shaky as fuck because i am shaky as fuck, but i wasn’t worried about it being perfect since i’m going to just be sewing over it.
