Everything came circle Thursday as I had the honor of coming back to judge at the event that held my first Dj competition, Howard's Hottest, put on by @whbc_howardu. More importantly I the opportunity to judge with two legends, Luther Clark (music industry exec), and @djpremonition the man who helped open a lot of doors for my career and blazed a trail for a score of DJs who came from the Mecca. Every contestant was amazing! The real winners were the students because they got to see their peers give a show that would rival what they would see in concert or on tv. Big shout out to @sevyn for stopping through also and dropping off inspiring words for all the students and shout out to anyone who took home a trophy! My classroom for the WHBC Kids News curriculum we started this week.

We took a break from Connection Groups for the summer and we are now starting our first semester of Western Hills University!  I know a children’s minister doesn’t typically plan adult classes, but sometimes you need to do things outside your comfort zone. :)

My class painted pictures of sheep for our craft for 3 weeks. We were studying shepherd parables and memorizing the first three verses of Psalm 23. We read the story where Jesus calms the storm for verse 4.
