So, I am pretty sure you guys have heard of this game called Clash of Clans. It's an awesome game. I didn't know about it until like a couple of months ago. My friend always tells me to download it but I was not that into it at first. I thought it was going to be a waste of time. And that is exactly what it is. The game is highly addictive. I am not a very good player. I am actually not even a good player but I try. My defense has won 2 times and lost once. Two trophies were deducted from my trophy collection. :( The game is really awesome.
But the one thing I am not happy about is the fact that many people (I am talking millions) knew about the game before me. This of course gave a lot of people (the millions I just talked about) an advantage over me. Most users have upgraded their town hall and etc.. to high levels so I am somehow disadvantaged. Anyways, I am not doing as bad as I thought I would. I am not doing any good either but I am OK.
I was very excited to watch the game between Leicester City and West Ham United last Sunday. I had a feeling it was going to be a good match. And it was. At least until Jamie Vardy was red-carded. I really don't want his absence on the next game stopping Leicester from winning. I mean, he is such an influential player. He is the third top scorer in the premier league and he really runs fast. I don't think anyone from the Leicester team could replace Jamie Vardy. An outstanding player. He did score one goal on that match as well. If he had not tried to trick the referee into giving Leicester a penalty (that's how they scored their final goal), they would have had 3 points rather than one and would have been 8 points away from second place Tottenham (the Premier League was quite something this year. Really enjoyed it.) I mean look at Chelsea, a defending champion, struggling to stay in the top half of the table while teams like Leicester try to win the title. It was quite a season. And the best part, it's not over. But it will soon be[:(]. It's amazing how time flies - the European Cup will start soon and that will be followed by the World Cup. That's just awesome.
I sometimes forget all the luxurious/entertaining things I can watch (in this case, Soccer). It's just great. Don't mistake me for a die-hard fan. I am nothing like that. In fact, I don't watch most of the games. I just watch the highlights either on Youtube or on TV. Anyways, football (soccer) is great!
CS50, programming and python
I know this paragraph shouldn't be here but I really need to start reading a good book. My English is deflating by the day. My writing is pretty bad too. Anyways, let me get back to the topic.
There is something about computers I really love. I don't know, maybe it's the things that make them them or maybe it's something else but my point is I have always loved computers. That is why I am starting to learn about them from scratch for like the third time because I always seem to forget what I learn. I hope I can remember what I am learning now and hopefully don't have to learn it again.
I started watching this tutorials on Youtube that were uploaded by the CS50 team at Harvard. It's basically a bunch of tutorials that introduce students with little or no programming skills to the art of computer science and computational thinking. I just quoted David. He is a lecturer at Harvard. Awesome guy. Puts the knowledge right in your brain. I like this kind of teachers. My biology teacher was like that. One of the best teachers anyone serious about their work could wish for. Back to my point -- I have only seen like 4 lectures about computer science (actually 5 if you count the MIT opencourseware's Introduction to Computer Science and the Art of Programming) but I do know a lot more than I used to before the videos. I think that is just great. I suggest you go check it out.
I still haven't finished learning all the tutorials on Javascript found on w3schools, the best place to learn web development. It's very clear and full of examples. I am also teaching myself Python from the official python website. There's a part that says documentation and it has parts that cover most of the things needed to program effectively using python. Check that out too.
