Wheelchair rugby at the paralympics today was absolutely incredible. I'm so excited for the next round. It's super cool how the points system means you have a range of disablilities on the team and also encourages having women on the team. Can't wait to do a taster session at my local club ^_^

Imagine you are just a nice middle aged dad and you are walking your two young sons to the beach in rural England on a nice sunny day up a hill, when suddenly an androgynous person with bleach blond hair and pink heart sunglasses comes careening down the middle of the road in a wheelchair, top spped, cackling madly, followed by 5 more 20-odd year olds on foot yelling “oh shit he’s doing it again!”
Because that is what I inflicted on someone today.
Where is all the energy for the paralympics that the abled olympics had?? This site was loving the abled olympics but as soon as it's disabled people it's just *crickets*
I know it can be hard to watch it because of the shitty coverage but the only way it will get better coverage is if people make the effort to watch it and make some noise. If you claim to be an ally to disabled people, this is a super easy way to do it.
But seriously is this how people feel watching sports normally?? Inspired to completely transform my life to fully based around murderball rn
