Just noticed something. Wesley's scar is somewhat symbolic of his exile from the group, of being isolated and going down this darker path. This is also what leaves him vulnerable to his relationship with Lilah, and we see that it's obvious he still has this deep desire to be loved and accepted back into the group. And he is. He gets to come back from it.

But for Lilah, it was too late before it even began. She sold her soul long before we meet her and even though we see in their relationship that she too wants to be loved and accepted, she sabotages it because she doesn't even believe it could happen to begin with: "If I thought you'd ever trust me, I never would've played you like that." It's too late for her to come back from her path and though their relationship hopes to exist just outside of this reality, it's still this inevitable tragic ending waiting to happen.

And once he's restored to the group and leaving her behind, she is left with the same scar, only hers goes all the way around because this was always where her path was headed. And it's through him, through seeing what could have been, that what is no longer can be avoided.
