Jake's mom (I've been calling her Agatha in my head but it's largely a placeholder name) does tell Wesker about her pregnancy, and he does marry her - partially out of affection, partially bc he wants to know what is so good about a nuclear family that he got kinda kicked to the curb by Will, you can also add some superior genetics reasonings. this also makes him settle back in the Arklay lab and not attempt to leave Umbrella, because his family needs stability.

it's okay for a long while, but by ~1997 it's getting stale. (in my interpretation, canon Wesker joined the Intelligence division not bc of ~conditioning~ mumbo jumbo but simply because of the sense of profound dissatisfaction with his life, and i would assume an uninspiring married life woild not aleviate that.) so when he accidentally stumbles upon Chris in RC, it's a breath of fresh air. (i'd probably give Chris a non-RPD-related job for plot and characterization reasons.) the affair goes on for longer than either of them anticipated, and Chris is torn between not wanting to be a homewrecker and keeping Wesker for himself. even though one word from Chris, and Wesker would blow up his baka life.

Chris couldn't run any more. He didn't want to run any more. He didn't want to fight, either. His body slammed into the dead end wall and he just took it, stumbling backward before falling to his knees.

Wesker's heels clicked slowly on the cement and Chris could only see his boots and the bottom hem of his dark coat as he loomed above.

"Get up, Chris." Wesker kicked him in the ribs and Chris rolled over, staring up at him. Wesker's narrow face was drawn, and haughty, his lips, sneering. "You're better than this."

"I can't." He moistened his dry lips as he lay curled on the ground. "I can't do it any more. Just kill me."

Wesker stared down at him through his dark glasses. Arm like a striking snake he grabbed Chris by the collar and slammed him against the wall, pinning him with his body.

"Is this a trick?"

Chris' head lolled. He felt blood trickling out from between his lips and his eyes couldn't quite focus on Wesker's face. "No tricks, you win."

Wesker stared at him a long moment before throwing him over his shoulder.

"Come along then, Chris. Clearly you require some… reinvigoration."
