As promised, A recap of last nights Pathfinder session
A FULL PARTY! (We started a bit late but that was no sweat)
We pick Argus up from the apothecary after his most recent Syphilis attack. We gather up some supplies and as we go to buy bread from the baker, he morphs into Adestria. She tells us that she has located the final piece of the staff. We need to travel to Bad water Cove where it is being held by Sanctioned privateers. Adestria is able to teleport us to a town that is fairly close to the cove. After procuring some transport we make our way to the cove and hitch our horses, while Adestria recovers back in the town.
We enter the cove and see that there is a boat currently docked. We dont have any intel as to WHERE exactly in the cove our target is, but we know that it's here. A few stealth checks along the gang planks and we get to a corner. I decide to make a Hide check and with a lucy 20 I am able to find a small alcove in the wall. Just then Elephant snaps a plank and gets the enemies attention. We attempt to set ourselves up as best we can before we roll for initiative. When combat starts we find out that we're facing were-crocodiles! With us suspended 40 feet above the water with some jagged sharp rocks AND WERECROCS i'm thinking this is going to be a fun battle.
Cue Combat!
Highlights include...
From Argus: a critical hit at a critical juncture in the battle as well as some awesome tumble checks. Plus something else but i'll get to that later
From Myself: a Nat 20 shocking grasp and a few nice seeking rays. One of which pretty much 1 shotted the boss, a Naga. And a critically important grease spell on Saffir so she could get out of a grapple (this probably saved her life).
From Saffir/ Elephant: lots and lots of killing crocs. Providing flanking bonuses, and generally holding the line against the oncoming crocs.
From Lee-sin: Held the line on the other flank aganst the advancing crocs. He had also taken Greater grapple and was able to toss the crocs off the gang planks 2 of them mind you.
The craziest part of combat was when I say to Lee-sin's player, "Dude let's do something crazy. Defer your action till after my turn. Rule of cool says this will work" At this point there are only 2 crocs left (and the naga but she was hiding) and they are coming off of the deck of the ship. Lee-sin spends a ki point to jump roughly 40 feet across to the other side of the gang planks (instead of hugging the corner and moving along the planks) while I cast enlarge person on him... in mid air. So Imagine what those poor blokes must have felt like, to get thrown off of the walk by this monk only to see him coming at you through the air, while growing an extra 5-5 feet tall. We of course made an intimidate check to send them scuttling away into the strongroom.
After a few rounds of standoff, Lee-sin opens the door to a big surprise. He gets acquainted with a cannonball, point blank to the chest. The Naga is dead at this point so it's just the two crocs in the room and they are both stunned. We bum rush in there and kill one and spare the second. While this is going on argus grabs the cure light wounds wand and Saves Lee-sin from a watery grave. Inside the strongroom we find the bone fragment as well as roughly 30k in gold and a +1 flaming quarterstaff. We also find the deed to the ship moored there!
We sail back to Adestria and before we go in we meet an old man who pretty much tells us to stop helping Adestria otherwise we'll regret it. Apparently he's part of some secret service type group. We ddint take him on (obviously) but I'm starting to have second thoughts at this point. We hand the last piece to Adestria and she assembles the staff and it looks like a giant glowing red spine with a skull on top.... I'm really not liking where this is going. My ominous detectors are going off.
BUT TOM WAIT!! DID ANYONE GET BITTEN (and consequently fail their fort save) BY THE LYCANTHROPES?????? Good question. The answer is more than likely myself and Saffir. I rolled a 5 on my fort save and assuming these guys dont have an extremely weak save DC, i might become a werecroc dragon disciple. However it's not the direction I want my character to go in. I am going to politely ask saffir for her to prepare remove disease and cast it on me. I want to keep my dragon blood pure.
So that's it!
