Okay so tadc episode 9 trailer just came out, and I was thinking about this one clip
It's gangle panicking with her happy mask from episode 4 on her face. So this could be a flashback to episode 4, but I think it's a scene from 9. We know not everything in the circus was deleted (eg. Kinger still has a bucket on his head) so I think gangle, as a way to cope with Caine's death, might have put the happy mask back on.
I've seen a lot of people talk about how gangle might be bipolar and how this mask represents medication (it only helps you look like you're happier but deep down it's only making your feel more isolated). Niw part of gangle's arc so far was learning to not need her happy mask and instead naturally get better by forming meaningful friendships (especially with zooble who has a big positive impact on her).
So I'm thinking, her putting the mask back on could represent something like a relapse? It makes sense that she's trying to use the mask to just feel better in the moment, considering what just happened. But we can see that she's still freaking out, and I'm wondering if this could represent an overdose?
We already seen imagery of gangle getting hit by a truck twice. Once in episode 8 when Caine is showing the their worst fears/insecurities and again in episode 4, after taking off her happy mask. So, I think gangle is passively suicidal (from how she ran onto the road in episode 8) or maybe even attempted in the real world and got hit by a truck (explaining why it would be part of her trauma that Caine brought back up), therefore it would make sense the her putting the mask back on top desperately calm herself down might be symbolic of an overdose attempt.
