Until Dawn - Everybody Lives Ending
The reason the word "Wendigo" began to be censored online has nothing to do with respect or whether or not it's offensive (not all Native people who talk about it censor it) and more to do with the fact that it's a scary, hungry, dangerous spirit and people think saying the name aloud risks attracting its attention.
(Although for what it's worth, the idea that we shouldn't say the name of the Bad Thing because to do so would be to invite the Bad Thing is a widespread, very old, very human concept that's also been applied to things like shadow people and the fae, and in certain cultures, to things like bears and whales.)
I leave it uncensored for the same reason I leave everything uncensored, so people can block it or Word Replacer if they want to. But I do make it a point not to say it out loud when I'm out in the woods.
how do you like the designs of the wendigos in Until Dawn? Esp the remaster that came out recently. They're so creepy! I think you'd like 'em.
I had not seen them prior to this! I gotta say that it's not the traditional portrayal you're used to but they look very creepy, it's different and I fuck with it, also the graphic is really cool
