Some WayV fan art of a design I would like to embroider one day… eventually. The birth flowers of the members! Chose flowers/colors I had floss for. Might change the gladiolus to pink, still on the fence there!
From right to left:
Carnation - January, Kun
Morning Glory - September, Hendery
Violet - February, Ten
Marigold - October, YangYang
Gladiolus - August, Xiaojun
small-tober prompt #13: grocery shopping
“Shopping is soooooo boring!” Little!Yangyang groaned loudly, slumping over the shopping cart in exhaustion and boredom.
How long had they been in the store again? One hour? Two? It certainly felt that long.
“Liu Yangyang, if you don’t behave in this store…” Dejun warned, pushing the shopping cart and gently leading Yangyang’s arms away so that it wouldn’t drag.
Yangyang whined, stomping his foot a little bit in the aisle, gaining the attention from the old lady looking at the shelves nearby. “Wanna go home!” He yelled, throwing a tantrum right there in aisle three.
“Do you want to eat or not? We’re getting ingredients so that your Ba can make dinner for you. That’s right, for you. So, can you please sit still for me?” Dejun’s eye was practically twitching with annoyance as Yangyang shook his head.
“Don’ wanna! Wanna go home! Wanna go home!”
Dejun was going to lose it. As much as he loved his little guy, Yangyang was quite the handful sometimes. He would definitely be leaving the little at home with Hendery next time, that’s for sure.
“Why don’t we play the quiet game?” Dejun asked softly, forcing a smile. “Hm? Whoever makes a sound first loses and whoever stays quiet until we get home to the Ba and the others gets…” Dejun looked around the aisles for something -anything- to bribe the little with before gasping. “A Kinder egg. Yeah, wouldn’t you like that, Yangyang?”
Yangyang gasped loudly, nodding and placing a hand over his mouth. He loved Kinder eggs! They reminded him of his childhood and going to the store with his mom in Germany and getting chocolates as a treat.
“Okay, Junnie!” Yangyang beamed, as if he’d never been upset in the first place. He stood up straighter and stopped throwing a tantrum, making Dejun roll his eyes.
And Yangyang stayed true to the rules of the game. He stayed totally quiet, walking around the store and never yelling or even wandering off. It was great, because Dejun got to focus on finding the ingredients and finished shopping much sooner than he’d expected.
The two of them approached the checkout lane, placing items onto the counter. Dejun sneakily placed the Kinder egg on the conveyor belt with the other groceries, so that Yangyang wouldn’t know he’d won yet. The little wasn’t paying much attention, only looking at the little cartons of banana milk in the small fridges by the register.
After the two paid, Dejun had started walking back to WayV’s dorm with Yangyang in hand, grocery bags in the other. They’d gotten home quietly and Dejun started to miss his baby’s bright voice, not used to the silence.
As they approached the door, Dejun stopped the two of them in their tracks and patted Yangyang’s head. “Here you go, for listening so well. You won the quiet game, little man.” Dejun snickered, fishing through the bag to hand the little the treat. Yangyang looked at it with practically stars in his eyes, but he didn’t say ‘thank you’ like he usually did. That was weird; Yangyang was usually a very polite little boy.
“Yangie?”
The little shook his head, not saying a word. He put the Kinder egg in his pocket and nodded at Dejun, little eyes sparkling brightly at his caregiver. Dejun thought for a moment, wondering why Yangyang was still quiet -and then it hit him.
“Oh, boy.” Dejun breathed out, fumbling with his keys and unlocking the apartment door. The little hadn’t realized that Dejun was serious and that the game was over. Finally, Yangyang was quiet and content but now Dejun had a bigger issue on his hands: ending the seemingly never-ending quiet game!
A/N: Will be posting #14 and #15 later today if i can!! Stay tuned!!
