Elizabeth was not the avoidance type. Her mother had always taught her to face her problems head on, to look everyone in the eye and state her mind, but with Alex it just didn’t seem possible. Innocent flirting was one thing, harmless, but falling into bed with him had been a mistake. Letting him touch her when she was old enough to be his mother, when she knew her own daughter had a crush on him and she’d chastised her stating he was too old. What kind of a hypocrite was she? In fact, sneaking out of his room early in the morning had been the best decision she’d made that night. It had been three days since then, and Elizabeth had taken to working the desk more often rather than asking her daughter to do it. In fact, today she’d given her car keys to Audrey without a fuss, only asking she be home for dinner. While at first it seemed like a wonderful idea, it now meant that she was completely stuck in the building with no where to go. At least at the front desk, people would be coming and going themselves and she could have something to focus on. At least... that’s what she’d been hoping. No such luck.
