There are so many amazing pictures of my place by @severus_snapshot for this Saturday’s virtual Weird Homes Tour that picking a favorite is hard. I really love this one, though. It demonstrates my philosophy of breaking up items by type in order to group them by theme. For that reason, you’ll see a lot of talking boards *not* up on the wall with the others, but rather displayed among some of the other occult categories, such as you see here with the Mystic Answer Board with its zodiac theme anchoring the Astrology display in my foyer. So there are a couple of games we can play here. The first is show-and-tell. That’s not really so much a game as it is you going to YouTube, searching for “Weird Homes Tour Planchettes” and giving my new private tour video a look. And you should do that! Its New Year’s Eve, so let me post the prerequisite 2019-in-Review/Top 9 thing everyone loves so much. This was a crazy year for me personally as I really found my footing as a single dad, and a banner year for discoveries and sharing my work with the public. And y’all responded in kind: my top posts this year had exponentially more feedback and likes than any other subsequent years by a wide margin. I mean, every post here had *multiple hundreds* of likes each which is pretty far beyond what my humble little effort should be generating. Thank you! The Elijah Bond gravestone is always popular, but add one of @jessihardesty’s amazing woodcut planchettes to it and y’all go bonkers, in what became one of the most popular posts on my account ever. The @weirdhomestour generated a ton of buzz this year, too, and it sure helps to have the ever-awesome @severus_snapshot behind the camera, whose work was so popular on my feed it makes up 1/3 of my top posts (the whole top row)! The crone summoning the palmistry hand from the oracle’s brazier was a post so-nice-you-loved-it-twice, and was a favorite in both color variations. And for an account called “Mysterious Planchette,” from a collector of spirit apparatus, it’s always curious to me that my posts of historical artifacts don’t get the same love as the others, and this year y’all went crazy for the minor and common 40s-era Mystic Medium Ouija board over a host of waaaaay more interesting artifacts, but there’s no accounting for tastes. Haha. And lastly, I was positively thrilled that y’all showed the love for two of the most awesome people I’ve ever known, @brandieknight1980 and Carey, in a show-of-appreciation post I put up right after we had shepherded out the last of the 1,300 Weird Homes Tour visitors from my house, because those two incredible folks drove down to help me from dawn to dusk and be here to share in the chaos, and I’m glad y’all appreciated them as much as I did. Thank you. So, that’s 2019! Tomorrow it’ll be 2020 and we’ll do it all over again.
