The last bloodline by weyowang and WmW for #webcomicwednesday and #webtoonwednesday Official summary: Mallory was a naive college student until she stumbled into the dangerous world of international vampires. After a prophecy names her the new "Queen of Vampires, she needs to earn the title or risk falling into the clutches of those who seek to destroy her. There's only 9 episodes so far but this is already both hilarious and mysterious, so here we go. Mallory is an orphan raised in a church by possibly an ex-soldier who became a priest and nuns. Her unknown uncle has just died and left her everything, including a giant mansion in the middle of nowhere. She's studying to be a zoologist which comes in handy when vampire clans attack. The reason? These different vampires can change into different animals: bats, cats, insects, snakes, among others. There's good and 'doing things for their own good' vampires, some of them may want to kill Mallory, but who can she trust? I don't know yet myself - I don't trust anyone yet 😅 Mallory is innocent and a little naïve but it is still early and she may end up teaching the vampires a thing or two on her way to becoming Queen of the vampires. So they start ghost hunting together, like they did in middle school. Rhys doesn't believe in ghosts and wants to spend time with Avery. Avery believes in ghosts and wants to spend time with Rhys 👀 Ghost hunting isn't a difficult past-time when there's a local haunted asylum, people are going missing and no one seems to care, and things are happening that are definitely weird but probably not ghosts. Not to mention Rhys is a werewolf and one of Avery's mothers is a witch. I swear that Avery has all the observational and critical thinking skills of a haunted wooden post 🤦 but I am saying that as a reader with all of the information while he's in the moment and only connecting the dots, so 🤷 (I've connected the dots! You haven't connected shit.) She's lazy, messy, and clueless when it comes to looking presentable. Her colleague Wan Jo is the polar opposite. He's religious about self-care, and particular about his carefully constructed image. But they both have something in common: they're constantly at war with their past and future selves. The episodes are set in different times and places: modern, past, high school, and with spirits that control luck and scenarios around the two main characters. It's poly (3 women), has excellent representation, and deals with some heavy topics including family, expectations, and straight up familial abuse. Your Throne by SAM for #webcomicwednesday and #webtoonwednesday Okay, first things first: Medea could step on me and I'd thank her for the privilege. Second: Psyche's character growth is amazing and I'm 150% here for it. Third: Heli needs so. Much. Therapy. Fourth: Eros needs to be de💀d sooner rather than later. So, highly recommended. The actual plot starts as Medea Solon, who has had her whole life leading towards being the Crown Princess and married to Eros, has just been publicly rejected by Eros in favour of Psyche. The plot then swan-dives off the edge into betrayal, intrigue, politics, and family and friendship dynamics (several unhealthy, but others worth the battle to get to where they are now). The art is delicate and beautiful, and sometimes gory, but there's a beauty in that artwork, too.
