Summary: Hugging Peter is the best thing ever, no matter the situation.
(If any mistakes please let me know <3)
Excitement buzzed through your body, almost vibrating. You couldnât wipe the smile from your face, waiting for Peter to walk out the building. Small chatter grew louder when the buildingâs door swung open, the entire decathlon team raced out. Cheering, and hollering, Ned held the trophy, waving it above his head.
You laughed at how crazy Ned looked, how happy he looked. Your eyes scanned for your boyfriend, he had to be near Ned.Â
âY/N!â Peter found your figure in the crowd, waving his arms in different directions.Â
Turning, you see Peter running towards you. The biggest smile on his face, he never looked this happy. Your heart soared with pride.
When Peter got to you, he ran into your body, pulling you into a hug. His arms wrapped around your body, lifting you slightly off the ground. He placed you down, still not letting go.
âPeter, Iâm so proud of you! You did it,â you mumbled into his shoulder.
Peter pulled back slightly, âYouâre my good luck charm. I couldnât have done this without you.â
Your heart skipped a beat, hugging Peter closer to your chest. Hugging Peter made you feel like his arms were only meant for you.
You sat on the floor, scribbling notes for math class. Usually, Peter was there to keep you company, but the past few weeks, Peter rarely came around. Itâs like he forgot you existed.Â
A knock came from your door, distracting you from your notes. Groaning, you rolled up, heading towards the door. Everyone was out running errands, and stuff, you decided to hang back and focus on homework. Of course you would get a visitor.
Peeking through the hole, you see Peter shuffling his feet in front of the door. Why is he here? You guys havenât talked for three days, he never answered your texts, or even bothered to go to school half of the time. You unlocked the door, opening slightly to look through. Peter jumped, his eyes snapping towards yours.
âMay I- May I come in?â he mumbled.Â
You really needed to finish homework.. but Peter might give you answers on why heâs been so distant. You nodded, opening the door wider, stepping back. Peter slid through, and you locked the door behind him.Â
âWhy are you here, Peter?â you followed him to the living room.
âIâm sorry. Iâm sorry for ignoring you,â he closed his eyes. You quickly scanned his body, he was shaking, bags hung deeply under his eyes. He looked so tired and sick.Â
âWhat happened?â you asked, softly. You werenât as angry anymore, Peter looked so broken down, you wanted nothing more but to hug him in that moment.
âIt was the Starkâs internship, I spent all of my time there and I should spent my time with you.â
âPeter, when is the last time you slept? Ate? You need to take care of yourself! You need a break,â waving your hands around, trying to get your point across.
Peter hung his head, not replying,Â
âPeter talk to me-â Peter sniffed, making you stop mid sentence. Was he crying?Â
âI lost the internship.â
Your heart sank. No matter how much you hated the time and work he had to give, you knew how much he wanted this. âPeter,â you mumbled.
He raised his head, tears streaming down his face, âI wasnât good enough.â
You couldnât stop yourself, you took quick steps, wrapping your arms around Peter. His arms wrapped around your waist, tightening his hold. His shoulders began to shake, sobs racking his body.
You have never seen Peter this sad, the last time Peter cried like this, was when Uncle Ben died. Tears brimmed your eyes, trying to hold it in. Pushing him back a bit, âDo you need anything from me?â
Shaking his head, âNo, please just hold me.âÂ
You brought Peter back into your body, softly crying with him. If it was up to you, youâd hold him as long as you can.
âIâm sorry,â Peter apologized, again. Probably his 100th time saying those words that night.Â
âPeter itâs fine,â you told him, saying that probably the 100th time that night.
You were sitting next to Peter, in his living room, all dressed up. Peter had his head in his hands, in pajamas. It was homecoming night, and you guys were supposed to be there, but when the time came for Peter to pick you up, he never came.
You waited an hour, texting Peter every fifteen minutes, making sure he wasnât dead. Never receiving an answer, you made your way to Peterâs apartment. Confused, May opened the door for you, telling you Peter was sleeping in his room.
Peter started the Starkâs internship, again, and you totally understood how exhausted he was. You werenât even angry about homecoming, it was all Peterâs idea, so of course you said yes. When Peter finally woke up, thirty minutes later, he freaked out.
Which is where you guys are now.Â
âWe can still make it!â Peter jumped up.
âPeter, it ended ten minutes ago.âÂ
Peter sat back down, running his hands through his hair. He honestly looked like he was going to cry, and it made you feel so bad.Â
âI ruined another homecoming dance, Iâm so sorry.â he ran his hands over his face, letting out a loud groan.Â
âYou didnât ruin anything. I heard the theme sucked this year anyway,â you laughed, bumping shoulders with him. When he gave you no response, you sighed, standing up.
Making your way to your phone, you grabbed it, going on a music app. Selecting âThinking Out Loudâ by Ed Sheeran, you put the phone down on the table. The first music notes rang out, Peter looking up. Peter always claimed this was your guys song, always humming under his breath when you guys cuddled. Requesting it at dances, just so you guys can listen to it.Â
Standing in front of Peter, you grabbed his arms, pulling him up.
âY/N, Iâm sorry. We can go out-â
âShut up, Peter. Just hold me,â smiling softly at him. A tiny smile appeared on his face, tugging you towards him.
One hand wrapped with yours, and the other one wrapped around your body. You guys swayed in his living room, both singing the song to each other. Peter pressed soft kisses to your temple, giggling every time after.Â
Hugging Peter was like hugging home. You felt safe and warm in his arms. You donât need a lame dance to hold Peter, it doesnât matter where you guys are, as long as youâre in each otherâs arms.
