i sometimes wonder why i don't really create content for reactions anymore.

i don't write blog posts, neocities updates, or personal pages with the expectation of likes, comments, or engagement. i think of it more like writing something on a stone — leaving a trace that exists quietly. someone might discover it someday, or nobody might. the existence of the writing itself is enough.

sometimes tumblr posts get reactions, and that's nice, but i don't create them for that. interaction is not the goal. the post is simply a statement. a thought placed into the world.

maybe this is strange in a time when so much online creativity is built around attention, metrics, and feedback loops. but after many years on the internet, something changed. i stopped needing every piece of myself to be witnessed.

there is a difference between sharing and performing.

sharing is: "i made something, and now it exists."

performing is: "i made something, and now i need the world to tell me it matters."

i think i became more interested in creating small digital traces than chasing visibility. a personal website, a blog, an archive — they can exist like a little monument in the internet landscape.
