Remember when it was heavily implied that the dead planets around the weblum in s2 were the remnants of planets the Galra had destroyed? Possibly via Komar tests. But multiple planets were threatened with going BOOM, and not just by Sendak.
...yeah.
So, did anyone else notice the Weblum gave Hunk Mickey ears before they tried to digest him? Not sure if this was a subtle dig at Disney or just a fun visual gag. Either way, I think this calls for someone on Etsy to make a Voltron series of Mickey Ear hats & headbands.
Weblum: *sees Olkarion*
Weblum: Finally, some good fucking food!
Can we talk about how much Steven's sleeping bag looks like a Weblum from Voltron : Legendary Defenders.

about the weblums not eating the remains of daibazaal: i just had a thought. i originally assumed that the planets that keith and hunk encountered were stripped of their quintessence by haggar, using the komar. however, it also occurred to me that haggar is currently has a connection with the beings from the rift. the weblum functions by consuming the remaining quintessence of dead planets. maybe the rift - and the beings inside - took everything daibazaal had, like haggar and the komar?
...Huh! Anon, that’s a really interesting conclusion! So the “unnatural death” and what would repel the weblums is that there’s no fragments of energy left for the weblums to eat- like how a vulture would probably stay away from a supernaturally clean corpse without any flesh or even marrow in the bones.
Also, if the weblums are quintessence eaters, they can probably sense it, so they can probably feel Rift Entity crawling around in there and not like that, no siree not one bit.
So I imagined a scenario where a Weblum is the star of one of those cheesy 80s "normal family except one of the members is clearly not human" sitcoms (so something like ALF), and...
"WEBLUM, DID YOU ANNIHILATE THE MAILMAN WITH YOUR MOUTH LASER AGAIN???"
"Uhhhhh, no sir!"
*laugh track*
"THEN WHY IS OUR FRONT PORCH ON FIRE???"
*cut to shot of the porch burning up, half of it gone, falling to pieces*
"Uhh, I wanted to start a campfire??"
*even bigger laugh track, claps*
(freeze frame, text that says "STARRING 懸앗ꙮⲀグตखらắ AS MR. WEBLUM" appears as 80s synth sitcom music plays)
The Weblum is like Monstro in KH. Only not infuriating.
