sometimes I read a story so amazing I wanna tell everyone in the world to read it too but since I can’t do that I recommend it to my friends and people I admire. Since you are one such person, dr fudge, I gotta tell you about this webcomic called Whale Star: the Gyeongseong Mermaid. Idek if you read webcomics, but if you ever get the itch to try, I couldn’t recommend this one more. The writing is beautiful and the characters are all so vibrant and distinct. All the relationships are compelling but one of them especially is edgier/darker in it that I loved which I think would be up your alley too. You can read it for free on the Webtoon app. The author Na Yoonhee, has written such amazing stories. Her current webtoon Non Tua, is one I think you’d also find compelling; about a forbidden relationship between a Vestal virgin and a freedman-turned-actor in Ancient Rome.
anyway, highly recommend those stories if you ever try any visual novels !
