Most of the webfilms in this tumblr were part of a collection of short movies in The New Venue website. Created by the digital filmmaker Jason Wishnow, it was online from 1998 to early 2011 and represented one of the first online film site dedicated to movies made exclusively for the web.

A follow up to BUDDHA BAR (and a precursor to the Liz Phair video DOWN) - we shot a couple hundred black and white pictures (using only available light) for this one and animated it in After Effects - which was trickier before Y2K than it is now if you're grading on a curve.
A music video of sorts for the band of the same name. Featured on a Resfest DVD compilation and in DFilm's digital corner of the Cannes fest that year which was pretty exciting.

San Francisco - the late 90's. Chinatown was mysterious and animating still photographs was an exciting, new idea.
This short was built from about 24 photos shot on a disposable camera on a budget of about 20 dollars and animated in whatever version of After Effects we were using then. It was a selection of the DFILM digital film festival, featured on a handful of early online video sites and got a couple nice mentions in print.
