Official kick off for the new school year was today. Amazing is how I would sum it up. As many of you may know I have been working at home for myself these last 8 years. While it was rewarding in so, so many ways, it also lacked as well. Today, I was a part of something again. I was not only part of a team, but also an organization. And this organization is one I definitely get behind. Not only as a parent these last 5 years now, but this year as staff as well. This year's theme is Ray of Hope. Absolutely something we need after the last two years. Also, it was one that pulled at my heart strings... We've already has some obstacles as a staff, but we are approaching them with grace and determination. We will be that Ray of Hope to our students. But, before I was a staff member, I was mom. And BOY, did our new superintendent touch my heart. She told a story about a little girl. This little girl had many of the qualities that MY little girl possesses. She was extroverted, chatty, energetic and just down right brilliant. But she was also bored. She had a teacher who poured into her and realized her potential. All through her school career, teacher after teacher, mentor after mentor poured into her helping she excel and she excelled to where she is today. Not only do I want to be that kind of mentor for the kids in my care but also thinking about those pouring into my girl. I prayed all during the superintendent's presentation for the teachers in that auditorium who may interact with my girl. And that they would always pour their love and support into her and that they would always give her their best even on days where they don't feel like it, but even more so on days she doesn't deserve it. So I conclude, Teachers, even if you aren't in my district, and really, any one reading this all the way to the end, remember YOU have the chance to change every student, or person, you interact with. ☀️ Be that Ray of Hope. ☀️ #Unstoppable #RayofHOPE #WeAreRaytown #OntheRoadtoSuccess #WeareSV https://www.instagram.com/p/ChJFGcEu2yV/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
