It makes sense why this story was covered in other outlets. Seems like an unserious story. And those ladies on the podcast clearly think the same cause they don't have to be complimentary of Armie in any way.

so: he wants fortune (by definition: a turn of good luck in the course of one's life) without even having to consider it, and he either thinks he wants power, or he thinks he's supposed to want power. either way, it's not his instinctual first thought or priority, but it matters to him that power is on the list.

result: darth maul wants things to go better for himself, for bad things to stop happening to him. sidious did everything he could to turn this man into a monster, into an utterly evil abomination like himself, and he failed on a fundamental level. maul doesn't want to rule the galaxy front and center like some kind of evil overlord, he doesn't want a baker's dozen syncophants torturing puppies in his throne room. naw, he just wants to be fortunate and happy. he has no idea how, and his own mind is a claptrap for bad ideas and failed methods, devoid of moral principles, but shit...
