as in literally, they can’t sleep. in both meanings, too.

obviously in the “restless dead” meaning, but also in the “lying in bed and staring up at ceiling for hours on end” meaning.

it makes time move slower, of course. but hey, the two of them always used to be busybodies when they were younger, so they gently slip out of bed and get a few things done in the meantime. they try not to go too far, though, just in case mira wakes up and sees them not there, and begins to panic and remember.

they visit their children’s dreams, and fight off their nightmares. they try to tell them that they’re there, they just can’t see them. but their children never believe them, or they just see it as them being there in spirit (which, i mean, yes).

occasionally, once they start focusing on each other and their relationship again, they’ll take some time to be with one another. they find fun and interesting spots to fuck in now that falling from them won’t result in their death. they laugh and joke around and reminisce about their time as teenagers and young adults.
