This Spring passed, my family went out of town to visit my Great Aunt. All of us went to this delicious restaurant and I ended up sitting across from my Mother. The waiter took her order and my Mom said, 'I don't want the rice.' The waiter took the order and went to put it in for us. I asked my Mom, 'Why didn't you want the rice?' She replied, 'I don't like rice.' I then asked, 'Since when?' She replied, 'My whole life.' This was news to me! I don't know this about my own Mother? I looked at her husband and said, 'For real?' He replied, 'Never seen her eat it.' I then asked my Mom, 'What about when I was living at home and I made rice with our food?' She replied, 'I never ate it.' I do not have a problem with anyone's likes or dislikes it is just that she is my Mother. Why don't I know this?!? I asked her why she never said anything. She replied, 'I don't waste my time talking about or complaining about the things I don't like. I talk about the things I do like.' This woman is amazing. She is my mother.
